The UNECAFE co-op, based in the state of Oaxaca, has a first-rate track record in advancing sustainability in the coffee world. UNECAFE represents 2,198 small producers (40% of which are women) and13,359 acres in 31 communities. The co-op’s proceeds are channeled into various projects, including the study Agroforestry and Carbon Sequestration, and The Coffee and Sustainable Development Fund.
This coffee was also one of our most popular when we opened our first farmers’ market season 2 years ago. If you haven’t tried it yet, it’s creamy and it’s rich. This is a perfect blend of varietals from across the region. It’s also a limited release – so drink up while it lasts.
